FAQs

Asked and Answered by Michael Atkinson

  • Should Atkinson's Apothecary Foaming Solution be double shaken?

Dealer's pick! If you want to both wet and dry shake, the drink will be frothier! Fine straining or double straining will reduce the foam. A hard shake is important to create the agitation needed to activate Atkinson's Apothecary Foaming Solution. I reccomend using 1/8oz, which can be easilty measured with a barspoon.

  • Are Atkinson’s Apothecary solutions shelf stable?

Yes! All Atkinson’s Apothecary solutions have laboratory issued Process Authority letters confirming a greater than 5-log reduction in pathogens, and an indefinite shelf life at room temperature via the combination of pH and preservatives.

  • Which licenses, certifications, and agencies ensure the safety of Atkinson’s Apothecary solutions?

  • Why should Atkinson’s Apothecary Lemon and Lime solutions be used in frozen machines and draft lines as opposed to other forms of lemon and lime juice?

Atkinson’s Apothecary Lemon and Lime solutions are designed to enhance the quality of frozen, kegged, and batched cocktails by providing a consistent pH and flavor. These clarified solutions will not degrade over time, and the lack of particulate helps to maintain proper function of machine and keg lines, extending the lifespan of valuable equipment.

  • What are the benefits to carbonation with Atkinson’s Apothecary Lemon and Lime solutions?

Traditionally, around 1/3 of a beverage is carbonated, as that is the amount of soda water that fills to top. With Atkinson’s Apothecary Lemon and Lime solutions the entire volume can be carbonated. This involves prebatching and chilling, then using a SodaStream, keg carbonation system, or other soda charging system of your choice to produce ripping carbonation that pops out of the glass!

  • Can Atkinson’s Apothecary Lemon and Lime solutions be used in cooking?

Yes! Atkinson’s Apothecary Lemon and Lime solutions can be used to substitute lemon or lime juice in your favorite cooking recipes. I recommend filling atomizers with Lemon Solution to spritz your oysters and Lime Solution for your tacos!

  • Are Atkinson’s Apothecary solutions gluten free, sugar free, vegan, and non-alcoholic?

Yes, Atkinson’s Apothecary solutions are designed better serve those with dietary restrictions and as such are gluten free, sugar free, vegan, and non-alcoholic!
